Rock Saké & Effen Vodka Launch “Relief Cocktail” Campaign to Raise Money for Japan

Call 888-849-0505 to get the Relief Cocktail at your restaurant or bar!

March 23, 2011) Los Angeles, CA – Rock Saké and EFFEN Vodka announce the kickoff of the “Relief Cocktail” campaign to raise money for the Japanese earthquake and tsunami victims. Beginning today, through the end of May, Rock Saké will donate one dollar to the Red Cross Japanese Relief Fund for every bottle of Rock Saké Junmai Daiginjo sold.

The recent disaster in Japan is undeniably tragic and has inspired communities to find creative ways to raise money and encourage others to do the same.  Seth Podell, the founder of Rock Saké, felt compelled to find a way to help the country whose national drink is saké, “We offer our utmost sympathy to the people of Japan.  We owe everything to the Japanese; without their saké craft, our business would not even be here today, this is an opportunity to give back.”  EFFEN was eager to partner on this endeavor to help those in vital need.

Saké is the national drink of Japan and a spirit that is rich in heritage and tradition. Not until the early 1900’s has saké been available in the U.S. and has been primarily consumed in Japanese restaurants. In recent years, saké has found its way into trendy fusion restaurants, bars and lounges and is often ordered in cocktails.

Starting this week, restaurants and bars in California, Florida, New York will offer the “Relief Cocktail” as a part of their menu.  The mixed drink is comprised of Rock Saké Junmai Daiginjo, EFFEN Cucumber Vodka, cucumbers and lime. To find out more about this program please contact Rock Saké at 888-849-0505.

Rock Saké Junmai Daiginjo contains 15% Alc/Vol. Supplied by Rock Saké of West Hollywood, CA. EFFEN Cucumber Vodka contains 37.5% Alc/Vol.  Supplied by Jim Beam Brands of Deerfield, IL.  Both products are distributed by Southern Wine & Spirits.

ROCK SAKÉ IS THE NEW CHOICE FOR BOTTLE SERVICE IN LOS ANGELES

West Hollywood’s VOYEUR selects Rock Saké to be ordered by the bottle

Los Angeles, CA (November 16, 2010) – Rock Saké is proud to announce its availability on the bottle service menu at VOYEUR, a premier nightlife destination in Los Angeles. Rock Saké is the first saké brand to be sold by the bottle in a nightclub environment and will share menu space with other ultra-premium products like Belvedere and Patron. Saké continues to be a growing category in the spirits industry and this new entrance into bottle service is an indication that Americans want to drink it outside of traditional Asian restaurants.

The demand for high quality saké in non-Asian venues has influenced the buying decisions of top restaurants and lounges throughout the country. VOYEUR draws guests into a provocative enclave where art, festivities, and entertainment converge in a sophisticated setting unlike any other. VOYEUR brings to mind an elite, private gathering place of days past, where an exclusive mix of clientele enjoy premium cocktails set against a stunning backdrop featuring live art installations, risqué photography and impromptu performances. Rock Saké is the perfect addition to the family of luxury spirits available at VOYEUR and will be available by the bottle and featured in fresh cocktails like The Rockin’ Cucumber and Raspberry Cloud Martini.

“We are excited to offer our guests Rock Saké, the only sake available on our menu,” said David Koral, owner of VOYUER. “Our hand-picked bottle list is a selection of the world’s finest spirits and Rock Saké was a natural addition.”

Rock Saké is all natural, domestically produced and is gluten free and sulfite free. Per ounce, Rock Saké contains half the calories of vodka, rum, tequila and other spirits. “We created Rock Saké to be a best in class spirit which consumers want to drink outside of traditional sushi restaurants.” said Seth Podell, founder of Rock Saké, “For a venue like VOYEUR to support our vision by listing Rock Saké on their bottle service menu only proves that consumers are ready to call for a favorite saké brand. Rock Saké is ultra-premium and approachable with its consistently great taste and easy to pronounce name.”

Rock Saké comes in two types that are both domestically produced and ultra-premium quality.  Rock Saké Junmai Ginjo has a smooth, fresh flavor and is hand-crafted using only the finest ingredients including all-natural rice polished down to 60%, and pure mountain spring water. Rock Saké Junmai Ginjo comes in a stunning white frosted bottle and does not contain sulfites, preservatives or additives. Rock Saké Junmai Ginjo has a distinct taste of purity and should be served chilled straight, mixed in a cocktail or martini.

Rock Saké Cloud is nigori saké. Intentionally less filtered, nigori means “cloudy” and is the most traditional type of saké. Rock Saké Cloud is junmai ginjo saké that is roughly filtered leaving it with an opaque color and sweeter taste. There is no distilled alcohol added during the brewing process of Rock Saké Cloud which is consistent with its all-natural, pure taste. Rock Saké Cloud should be served chilled straight or in a cocktail.

VOYEUR is located at 7969 Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood, and is open Wednesday through Sunday. Reservations are recommended and can be made by visiting the website www.voyeur7969.com.

2 ways to drink Rock Saké

Premium saké, like Rock Saké’s Cloud or Junmai Ginjo (pictured left), can be sipped in its purist form. All sakés are meant to be enjoyed chilled, similarly to a wine and can be sipped traditionally in wine glasses or in smaller glasses crafted for saké consumption like the one pictured.

Saké goes one step beyond wine and can be enjoyed in a mixed drink as well. Replace strong, harsh spirits with smooth Rock Saké for an exciting and delicious sakétini, a tasty twist to the martini.  Both Rock Saké Cloud & Rock Saké Junmai Ginjo can be combined with any fresh juice to make a delicious sakétini.

Rock Saké Pomegranate Lychee Sakétini

3oz Rock Saké Cloud

1.5oz Lychee Juice

Splash of Pomegrantate

Shake over ice, pour & garnish with cucumber

With perfection in so many different forms, how can you resist?

Stay Tuned for the release of our signature summer cocktails!
